Si rafforzano le relazioni economiche Italia-Russia

Do ut des - give to take. This old Latin adage might be useful in interpreting the relationship that has developed between Russia and Italy recently. In the last few months, there has been a continuous growth of efforts to create a strong and enduring partnership between Rome and Moscow. Two moments in particular have stunned public opinion in Italy: the Eni-Gazprom agreement on the delivery of fuel from Russia to Italy, and the bid by Aeroflot for Alitalia, which would give the Russians control of the Italian national airline.
Although these two different deals are carried out by companies, they are in the interest of their respective governments - both of which are focused on energy and transportation, and the growth of competition in these industries.
